A few very important things!

modofthehatHello, Sorting Hat! We have a few thins to say in light of some stuff that has recently been talked about on anonymous communities.
We want to take this moment to say that we have absolutely NO intention of converting the game into 'Potterstuck', nor do we intend on favoring any one cast as a whole. Yes, it's true that we have a lot of Homestuck characters, but that does not mean we will be treating them any differently than any other cast simply because of their numbers and the fact that we are in the cast itself.
The fact that the cast is big is something we've known for a while, and with the slow number of drops over the numbers of apps we've received, it has caused the cast to appear rather bloated. We realize this puts people off and as such, we have a simple request. This is not mandatory, but in order to even things out, we as mods and as players ourselves would very much appreciate it if those who play Homestuck characters would consider apping a second character from a different series. Again, this is not mandatory, but it would definitely help out with evening out the cast bloatation and hopefully encourage other people to app.
We did get a helpful suggestion from an anon on the comms that suggested advertising the game as a haven for characters that most games would deem unappable, such as minor characters and ones with no lines, etc. We've given this suggestion some thought and because of that, we are going to revise our ATP ad to make note of this. Due to the nature of the game as an AU setting, there's really no reason that minor characters ought to be left out of the game, and we will welcome this characters whereas other games might not.
Our one and only goal is to get the game thriving again, but in a way that includes everyone and not just one selective cast. But we must work together! If we're going to succeed, we can't have finger pointing or accusations of cast cliqueishness. If you think someone isn't tagging out enough, please, bring it up to them. Don't group the cast into it as a whole. That's unfair for everyone involved. Team work and dedication is going to be what gets Sorting Hat going again. If you ever feel like we are favoring one cast over another, please let us know. That is NOT our intention and, once again, we have no desire or intention to play favorites. Sorting Hat is, and always will be a Pan-Fandom Roleplay.
ALSO, and just as importantly as everything else, exams are coming up at the end of this month, which means Summer Vacation is also fast approaching. Summer is always a tough time at Sorting Hat since there's not a lot to do. If anyone has ANY suggestions on how to make Summer more entertaining, we would very much appreciate it if you would share them. Summer is going to be the game's real test on whether or not it survives or not, and we really need you guys' help on this one.
And FINALLY we are thinking about changing the date of AC, putting it at the end of the month rather than having it go up at the 15th of every month. We know that it's been this way for a long time, but we've talked about it and it makes the most sense to have it go up at the end of the month. It's caused confusion for people in the past, and if we're going to bring in new people, we would like to make it easier for them. Going up on the 15th often causes it to get lost amongst everything else, as well as the fact people are just generally used to it going up at the end of the month.
So we would like your thoughts on all of this, please, please respond to it. We can't make this game work without you guys, so your input would be greatly appreciated!
