Hello everyone! It's time for...
This is all quite simple. Go to every Rper's favourite random number generator, and generate a number. Then post with the character you're considering apping here, along with the prompt you got! But don't just post with your character! Other people will be coming in, of course, so don't hesitate to reply to other people's comments!
1. Potions mixing! Such an under-appreciated art in the wizardry world, yet so crucial. So many things can go wrong, too...
2. Flying! Are you a first timer being taught by an older student? Are you just taking your new broom out for a spin? Either way, Hogwart's grounds provide a large field for you to fly around. Just be careful not to land in the Forbidden Forest.
3. The library. Such a large, useful resource that Hogwarts has. Are you there for your homework? Are you just a bookworm doing research for the sake of research? Either way, you better not try to get in the restricted section without permission! Dark magic lurks therein.
4. Sneaking out! Those dorms are boring, and school is so much more interesting at night... Just be careful not to get caught. Or to walk through a ghost. If you're a teacher, keep up the good work of keeping an eye out for those rascals!
5. Detention! If you get caught stepping over the line, you're put to work. So off you go, cleaning the trophy room with no magic, find wounded animals in the Forbidden Forest (watch out for the werewolves), or gut small animals for potion ingredient. Or maybe you're a teacher! Just waiting for the naughty student you caught to report for duty in the task you have in store for them.
6. Hogsmeade. Everyone needs a break from that big castle, and every student above third year with permission can visit the village on select weekends. Teachers, of course, can visit it whenever they want. There's pubs where you can drink butterbeer, stores to buy new school supplies or clothes, owls to rent, go wild!
7. The life of the paintings is a boring one, and when you have all the time of the world and little to do, you do what is easiest: talking. And boy, do the paintings like to talk. In fact, they're the prime source of gossip at Hogwarts! What juicy things has your character heard from these decorative blabbermouths?
8. Quidditch try outs! Are you a hopeful, trying to make this year the one where you take Hogwart's Quidditch league by storm? Are you a captain, dutifully watching for a diamond in the rough? Or are you just a spectator, watching everything unfold for espionage, schadenfreude, or just excitement at your team?
9. Hogswarts express! Are you a bitty first year, finding a place for your own, and maybe trying to make new friends? Are you an older student, catching up with your friends? Either way, a long trip like that is much spent with people than all alone, no?
10. Wildcard. Pick any of the scenarios above, or make your own.

Ah, those are my favourite.
[The grin grows even bigger.]
Very thoughtful. Unfortunately I do not carry anything of significance with me that I could give to you.
[Then he leans a bit closer and lowers his voice.]
We should meet up around midnight. I have something to show you, brother.
no subject
[He gives him a knowing look, lowering his voice as the professor seems to glance over.]
Not to worry, I don't need anything! I have my brother and jellybeans!
[He leans in as well, grinning eagerly.] Oho? What is it?
no subject
I cannot speak about this during detention, you see? Tonight.
[He smiles broadly.]
Hush about the jellybeans, otherwise they will be taken from us.
no subject
[He gives him a desperate look and pulls hims beans back protectively.] They are safe.
no subject
[Loki mimics the tone of his brother's voice.]
...it is top secret...
[He presses one finger against his lips.]
...so hush for now.
shall we skip to them meeting up later?
[He gives him a sly grin whilst looking over at his brother's work.]
Shall we switch bowls? [His voice is actually, properly low.]
Excellent! :)
Meet me around midnight. Where we mostly meet when we have a chance to do so.
[Quickly he moves to scribble something down because sneaking through Hogwart's halls at night is not something that the school encouraged. He tucks the note in Thor's hand.
After that he focuses on the work he has to do for his detention, and the jellybeans he casually slips into his mouth.]
[Loki has always been excellent at sneaking around without being noticed. For the occassion he has put on a long, black cloak, perfectly made to blend in with the shadows. So he waits for Thor on one the lower floors on, behind the sixth pillar.]
no subject
[Thor takes the note in a surprisingly subtle manner, slipping it into his robes and continuing his work as well. He's just so curious and it's honestly killing him not being able to know.]
[Thor is a hell of a lot less better at sneaking, but by some chance he manages to sneak out into the halls so he can find his younger brother. He raises a hand in greeting and grins as he approaches, speaking in a hushed voice.]
Good evening, brother.
no subject
[Loki is fully aware of the risks this little operation could entail. He debates what would be worse. An unfortunate meeting with Mr. Filch and that dreadful cat of his, or revealing a secret of Slytherin to a student belonging to Gryffindor.
But when it is about Thor, Loki can be sentimental. He treasures the few moments he is able to spend time with him. After all, being in different years and being placed in different houses made things quite difficult.
He looks around himself and whispers.]
We need to stay in the shadows as much as possible, yes? And do stay close to me.
[Loki motions Thor to follow him when he sneaks from pillar to pillar until they arrive at the staircase.]
no subject
Once again, their thoughts are much the same. He had been surprised when Loki had been sorted into Slytherin, but not ashamed. He knows his brother will flourish in the house, but he misses him dearly. The two are so very inseparable, living in different dorms is difficult.]
Aye. [He nods, moving with Loki and keeping as close as possible as he does.] How long will you keep me curious?
no subject
We have to be utmost secretive, Thor.
[He presses his finger against his lips. Loki guides Thor to Hogwart's attic. Or well, one of the many attics. This one is located right above Slytherin's quarters so Thor, you have to be really, really quiet.]
no subject
He nods enthusiastically, trying not to YELL enthusiastically. He's so excited, it's difficult to contain. He trails after Loki and shadows him, trying with all of his might to be quiet and not exclaim the obvious.]
no subject
At the end of the attic, close to the window there is a small, worn out cupboard. And inside the drawer Loki hid the eggs, covered in a warm blanket that has been made extra warm through sorcery.]
Do not mention this to your fellow housemates, Thor. Ever
[He gives his brother his so-called 'serious face'. He is most serious about this.
After that he shows Thor the eggs. Four in total, the shell a strange shiny shade of green and a bit larger than regular eggs.]
no subject
[Thor is a strange mix of fascinated and hungry as he is shown the eggs. It's just that time of night when he feels the need to snack. He blames Loki for tempting him in such a cruel manner.
He drops carefully to his knees, giving Loki a wary look in return to Loki's serious expression. He doesn't see it often, so he knows it is important. He gives him a solemn nod.]
My lips are sealed.
no subject
And I am showing them to you because you are my brother and thus I trust you.
[Trust is an important thing to Loki. So far he finding himself unable to trust anyone but if there is someone he could trust most of the time, it is his brother Thor.
He looks at Thor for a moment before turning his attention back to the eggs.]
Alas, the library has not provided us with the right information yet.
no subject
[The fact that they'd never be able to care for a dragon doesn't occur to him.] You have made me a most proud brother. [He smiles warmly at him.]
So you've no idea what they are?
no subject
[Loki has absolutely no idea to take care for a dragon either. But that is not something Thor needs to know.]
Of course. I am going to be a good wizard, you know. At least twice as good as you are.
[The grin on his face is a proud one, he might not be the one the Odinson family is quite proud of, but he is quite proud of himself nevertheless.]
Not at all. But I hope they're dragons.
no subject
[He gives him a curious look before pouting just a little at that comment. It takes all of his strength not to yell. Loki is starting an argument here!!!]
I do not think so, brother. I think we will be equals at best! But I am older and more experienced!!
[Nose crinkle.] What if they're chickens?
no subject
[There's a sharp tone to his whisper. And it does not always feel good to respond to his brother like that. But if the others in Slytherin would find out that he showed the eggs to his brother it might become rather awkward.]
And hush.
[He moves to arrange the eggs slightly before he tucks them away again.]
They are not chickens.
no subject
[He pouts, mumbling out the side of his mouth and scuffing the ground. Not that he cares. He doesn't even need a dragon. He has a broom and he can charm fire whenever he likes. That's as good as a dragon!!]
I shall not! [And yet, he doesn't push it any further than that.]
What if they are big birds- What if they are dodo eggs!
