Announcement-y things!
Helloooo Hatters!
It's about time for something that we know you've all been waiting for. Teacher apps! We've got a bunch of new students since the last time we did this, so because of that we're able to open 10 teaching spots. They will be open on September 16th. They will open at 9 PM UTC+10. That's 7 AM for EST folks, and 12 PM GMT folks. But don't worry! Due to the fact we're judging based on quality, we're going to leave them open for 12 hours to give everyone a fair shot at getting their application in. And if you're really, absolutely worried about not being able to get your application in on time, we'll be allowing you to let other people post your applications for you.
Additionally, if you already play a teacher and wish to app a second one, we won't say no. However, please keep in mind that we don't get the chance to open teacher apps often so in the interest of fairness, we ask that you think hard before apping another one, in the effort to give someone who doesn't play a teacher the chance. Because we don't open them very often, we've also decided that if anyone drops a teacher within the next two months after apps have closed, we will go back to the pool of apps left over and select a replacement.
We are also bringing back the Homework post! This is in an effort to make the Homework aspect of the game more streamlined and also to allow an easier opportunity for students to gain House Points. How it works is you, the teacher, post an empty thread on the post with your class name in the title. When you post a homework assignment on your journal, students will then go to that page and comment to your post with the form provided on the page. Based on how well they did on the assignment ICly, we will provide a range of points from 1, 5 and 15. Homework is very much a joint effort, so it's up to both Teachers and Students to make this work. Students can't earn points if they have no assignments, and students can't do assignments if Teachers don't assign them any!
Finally, we want to remind everyone that the start of school logs will be going up later today. Remember that Gryffindor and Ravenclaw tower are damaged and under repair for the first week. Gryffindors will be staying in the Hufflepuff dorm and Ravenclaw will be staying in the Slytherin dorm!
