why hello there
hi there i'm new i hope i'm doing this right
I'm Phil. I've been tossing around the concept of apping to this place for like... quite a few months, but I finally caved. It's all Jamesy's fault.
Regourdless, I'm bringing in this sweaty, awkward, creepy Homestuck kid. His name is Equius Zahhak, and he's a 4th year Slytherin Pureblood. You might remember this. He's a bit of a jerk, and his AU history is essentially that his mother died in an accident, his father became a depressed recluse raising horses, and Equius himself was mostly raised by his butler, with a good bit of his father's bitterness towards everything rubbing off on him. Also he's sweaty and creepy. And STRONG.
Apparently there was an Equius in the past but I don't know what sorts of CR he had or anything like that so if there's something from that that you'd like to keep you can poke me about it and see what I think? Otherwise, I'll be bringing him in with a completely blank slate, aside from pre-existing CR that people want with this iteration of Equius.
Also I'm a hop, skip and a jump from HP-canon-blind but ahaha that's not gonna stop me.
and i have almost no idea whats going on in-game so i dont know what to do to intro the sweating one IC heeeeeeeelp please?

Previous CR, Gamzee thought he was friends with Equius, Equius sort of tolerated him, and was actually friends though he never really admitted it and constantly lectured him about his behavior? Which was pretty canon, so if you wanna keep that, feel free. There was also some blackrom tension, but that was pretty player specific, so probably best to toss that out for now.
Gamzee is a big friendly stoner in SH, but he's also weird and has a fucked up temper at times and does some creepy shit. Also, a halfblood. So we can have whatever established CR you like, but Gamzee probably comes over and bugs Equius a lot, asks him weird questions, and offers him drugs/alcohol and says he needs to loosen up.
So welcome to our merry band!

Equius feels like he's sort of vaguely kind of friends (though he'd say nothing more than "associates") with Gamzee and tolerating/lecturing the shit out of him is pretty much exactly what I would expect to see. And oh gosh all of those things that Gamzee does are going to have Equius giving the most disapproving of glares. And possibly more lecturing.
I think it'll all be interesting, to say the least...

I've no clue what sort of shenanigans Equius will even be getting into yet, so I will definitely let you know if something makes me get a little bit uncomfortable. :P
That said, I think that Gamzee's extra year on Equius (respecting your elders) and the things Gamzee does (and the rage it gives Equius) will make it really hard for his brain to know how to respond to him in any given situation. Which means he might start sweating and that's just eeeew.

That said, the fact that she's a muggleborn and potentially has interacted with those muggle technologies means he's willing to endure her for the sake of LEARNING.
So I think he'd outwardly act like he doesn't like her much in public but honestly not mind her all that much as long as she's being sane. Because hating a blind person just feels wrong. Also, since they're in the same house and year, maybe they could be study buddies?

She blinded herself while messing around with potions during her second year, so I'm guessing he would have disliked her more before then? Depending on how vocal he was about it, she either outright insulted him back or just trolled him in general because she trolls pretty much everyone.
Super secret study buddies! I can see her making a Big Deal about how No One Must Know he's studying with the muggleborn and acting like they're undercover spies or whatever and being really amused if/when he gets annoyed about her silliness. But seriously, she's been a great person to study with ever since she went blind--she records entire lectures in her journal. Like, makes self-filtered entries that record the professor's voice for her like the book's a tape recorder.
Also some of us were fooling around on plurk last night, and we sorta headcanoned that she and Marceline sneak into the boys dorm to mess with Eridan's stuff. Speaking of plurk, does you has one?? I'm

NO ONE MUST KNOW. He'd be VERY SERIOUS about that, which would be... hilarious. Also he'd probably be INCREDIBLY ecstatic to know that she has entire lectures in her journal because YAY ALL OF THE THINGS HE DIDN'T CATCH AND STUFF.
Gawrsh that is just the most amusing thing. Poor Eridan's stuff. Depending on his mood, Equius might either support or vehemently oppose such shenanigans. I'm not sure yet because I have no clue how he'd interact with Eridan in this game yet.
Also yes I does has a plork. You can find it if you look in the obvious places, but I'm not going to actually accept friend requests and fire off some of my own until I know the game and players a little better. So like in a few days, probably.

Lessee, GAME THINGS HMMM. I was away most of last month so I missed a buncha stuff, but there was a school-sponsored summer camp that got hexed and a bunch of students hurt each other (the ministry is now investigating), there was an extensive discussion of masturbation in the journals that got some students in trouble, and now everyone's heading to Diagon Alley to get their school supplies.
EDIT: ALSO Prof Donahue (Dualscar) just announced he's gonna be giving swimming lessons to anyone who wants them. TZ signed up because she learned from the squid and isn't very good at it.

As for CR, I expect Maxim here probably drives Equius bugfuck crazy. He's very irreverent and laissez-faire about everything, and he likes to poke at uptight people like Equius. Smacking doesn't discourage him at all. But he does like fighting and horses? 8D?

MAXIM TENDS TO HAVE THAT EFFECT ON PEOPLE. IDK if you know Girl Genius at all, but Jaegers are generally just so wild and out there that most people have no idea how to handle them. The best way to describe them is like functionally immortal frat boys, if that says anything to you. And Maxim is one of the less crazy of the bunch.
If it goes to Maxim being thrown off a tower I will be thrilled.

I think that at least some giant chunk of their canon relationship could be kept. They seem like the type to have met in like, a first year class that they either both liked or both didn't care for and then they stuck to each other. Or something like that.

Yes I definitely do. That seems like a pretty good way to go about it too. Nepeta latches onto people pretty quickly and if he was one of the first people she befriended she'd have followed him around a lot! Hufflepuff just sliding over to the Slytherin table to pester him

Also I'm looking at things and I see that Nepeta's on the Hooflepoff Quidditch team. I'm thinking about trying to get Equius onto the Slytherin team, so maybe they could even be friendly rivals at game time if that happens? Granted i see him being more like "I will just not try as hard to hit her". Would she be all "We're on different teams it's OKAY!!!" to him?

I am Ri! As part of the HS cast, I have Dave, who is a 4th year Gryffindor (and Keeper for the quidditch team).
I also have a housemate for you! Little tiny halfblood Billy Harris, who is 13 but due to skipping his 2nd and 4th years is going into 5th year in September.
Last year, he was in 3rd.
He was in the same room as Equius last year, which I'm sure was fun.
