Intro
Hey guys, Coulson-mun here, bringing yet another law-abiding character into SH! Ironically, those are also the initials of a certain Sherlock Holmes, who drives a certain Detective Inspector Lestrade up the wall.
Greg Lestrade here in this AU is a Muggle-born 5th year Hufflepuff. He's not exactly the smartest of students, and he's a little rough around the edges and maybe a little bit insensitive, but he's got a good heart underneath it all. His background AU info is here on his app. I'm open to plotting for pre-established CR, and I'm looking forward to playing my first student character at Sorting Hat.

One because Tony rubs sensible people the wrong way.
Two because lol RDJ was Sherlock and well, yeah.

Yeah, I imagine Tony would really annoy him. Tony can also point out his less than stellar school results; he's horrible at every subject except for Care of Magical Creatures, Transfiguration and DADA, which he's OK at, and Flying, which is the only thing he really does well in.

But yeah, seems like something Tony would do to. I liiiiiiiike

Wanna make Lestrade jealous with all the Outstanding OWLs and results? Even in Sorting Hat, he can't escape being outsmarted.

And yeah, he's 14 but in 6th year. Clever dickens he is.

Oh, and I remember!! Lestrade's from a family that's not very well off. There's just enough to cover expenses, but even during summer he had to take an extra job to help his dad. Would Tony make jabs on that?
I think they should start off on a negative note, but hopefully we can work towards it being more positive?

But I'm happy to have Tony and Greg not at all get along but then slowly get along when he starts figuring out Tony's ways. And Tony figures out his.

If he's a cranky pants, stick in the mud, I can guarantee that Maxim would be the kind to sit and push his buttons.

But not really. But I imagine that if Lestrade and Van do get along, he will hang out with Maxim as well. And he does think Maxim's a good person, even if he's ridiculous and he really should know better. I think Lestrade would count him as a friend; just a really, really annoying one.

So, yeah, that means Rapunzel is in classes with him and such; she gets on well with law-abiding and rule-bending types alike and rough around the edges + sometimes insensitive + good heart = best kind of character to play Rapunzel off of, really. They could maybe already be pals?
Merida is a fifth year, too, so she'd... Know him. Not adore him if he'd bug her about following rules, but I think they'd get on okay.

But yes, I'd love for them to be pals. Lestrade was a bit of a shut in in his first few years in Hogwarts because he was always working hard, but he started loosening up a little and hanging around others in his fourth year. With how warm Rapunzel is, I'd say that the two can definitely be friends!
I expect he'd have heard of Merida as well. He wouldn't bug her to follow the rules unless she did something disruptive while he was around; he's obeys the rules, but he does know that some rules can be stupid, or maybe Merida's not doing any harm by breaking this one. He'd prefer for her to follow all of them of course, and he would make some comment on that if she were to do something that has big repercussions, but other than that he'd be alright with her.

Arthur lurks around the library and greenhouses a lot |D

Maybe Arthur's seen him trying very hard to finish his homework there? Lestrade isn't the brightest of folk, unfortunately. He's got street smarts, and he's alright with practical spells for DADA and Transfiguration, but he struggles with everything else.

But yes he may have seen him! He can understand putting your all in to succeed. He does it too.
